In celebration of the Festival of Lights, Sunway Group, in collaboration with Malaysia Hindu Sangam had created a memorable Diwali for a group of more than 100 single mothers and their children.
The mums were treated to a professional makeover by Sasa’s make-up artist who demonstrated make-up techniques and taught the mothers the art of make-up to inspire confidence. While the kids had a fun-filled time at the Sunway Lagoon dry park >.<
Later on, the mums and kids were ushered to the Water Feature Area in Sunway Pyramid Ground Floor for a hamper and goodie bag presentation by YB Hannah Yeoh, ADUN for Subang, and Mr. HC Chan, CEO of Sunway Pyramid.
Sunway Pyramid proudly welcomes Divine Diwali with all its richness, magnificence and mythological heritage this year. Embracing the unique diversity of Malaysians, the mall is wonderfully adorned and decorated with the Divine Diwali Peacock, located at the Water Feature Area, Ground Floor, with its dazzling mirror sequins and embellishments serving as reflection of lights, signifying the triumph of goodness over evil.
Legends depicted that the majestic Peacock was Lord Murugan and Goddess Saraswati’s mount, symbolising Hinduism in full prestige and prosperity by the display of its wonderful abundance of colourful feathers.
The shiny lights emitted from the designs add to enhance the Peacock’s statuesque presence, representing the quest for knowledge and enlightenment.
The intricate art of flourishing flowers on the Peacock’s tail also showcases the captivating and glamourous sides of Diwali, a festival that is joyfully celebrated by all.
The single mothers and children were then invited to the launch the “Diwali Rangoli” celebrations with the Sunway Group Management before they were treated to a sumptuous Diwali cuisine prepared at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa. Traditionally, the lighting of the oil lamp during Diwali signifies the triumph of good over evil.
Also for the courageous Leo Cubs, they also got a chance to be part of this joyous celebration. A “Let Your Flowers Do The Charming” workshop was organized on 10 & 11 November for the kids to learn how to beautify their homes with flowers. Look at them, simply adorable!
