In an effort to encourage Malaysians to showcase Malaysia in a positive light, we are encouraged to be creative by sharing positive messages through different mediums including social media during the #SaySomethingNice campaign in Sunway Pyramid.
The campaign runs from 31 August till 16 September 2013, in a joint effort with Zubedy, a for-profit organization with a social cause, and Sunway Shopping Malls.
Throughout the campaign period, Sunway Pyramid hosts several supporters of the #SaySomethingNice campaign at its exhibition area near LG1 Main Concourse – Yayasan 1Malaysia, Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Selangor), Society of the Severely Mentally Handicapped (SSMH), Everest Integrated Logistics, LegasiOakheart and Zubedy.
On Hari Merdeka and Hari Malaysia, flowers will be given away to celebrate the momentous historical dates. Balloons with a positive message attached are distributed during weekends too in keeping with the spirit of saying and doing nice deeds. Shoppers can also post positive messages on bulletin pillars at the exhibition area, courtesy of Post-it® from 3M.
The #SaySomethingNice campaign was recently launched by Anas Zubedy, Managing Director of Zubedy and Kevin Tan, Chief Operating Officer of Sunway Shopping Malls.
“We hope this #SaySomethingNice campaign will leave a big impact to the society. To achieve this end, we are trying to reach out to as many Malaysians as possible,” said Anas.
“Such campaigns should be lauded to encourage the focus on positive values and acts of kindness in today’s fast-paced society. Because of the diversity, richness and heritage of these festive celebrations, Malaysia is truly a rich cultural melting pot,” Kevin concurred.
“As part of the community, shopping malls have an excellent platform to reach out to people from all walks of life. After all, local statistics show that 1 out of 5 Malaysians are in a shopping mall on weekends. You can certainly imagine the opportunity of reaching out to such a crowd, especially with Malaysia’s population standing at over 28 million today,” he added.
The #SaySomethingNice campaign, a brainchild of Zubedy, began in 2011, seeking to use the 17-day time segment between 31 August and 16 September to showcase Malaysia in a positive light through both traditional and online medium through the #SaySomethingNice hashtag.
“Let us encourage the engagement and passion of our Malaysian brothers and sisters to make this country a better and more harmonious one,” Anas said to encourage all Malaysians to join in and #SaySomethingNice.
